To celebrate National Women’s Day, we want to encourage Women of all ages across the UK to think about their career and where an Apprenticeship could take them. Whether you are leaving school or 20 years into your career there’s always time for change. The opportunities available are wider and more varied than ever before.
In 2018/2019 there were 742,400 people on apprenticeships in the UK. Just over half of those (50.1%) starting an apprenticeship were Women, which was a 12,870 increase on the previous year. Apprenticeship are not bound by restrictions. We want to make sure this figure grows.
Apprenticeships are offered at different levels, Intermediate, Advanced & Higher (equivalent to a foundation degree and above). We can also help you achieve your Maths and English grades through our Functional skills programmes.

Some Common Myths about Apprenticeships
Most Apprentices are Men
Although apprenticeships may have been seen a field dominated by men. This is not the case. Since 2010 there has only been one year that there were more Men then Women on an Apprenticeship. Even in Construction and Engineering sectors, the figures are changing.
There is an age limit
If you are over 16 and have completed full time education, you could be eligible for an apprenticeship. Performance Through People are proud to be a non-discriminatory training provider, age is not a factor.
If I have a University Degree, I can’t do an Apprenticeship
If your Degree isn’t in the same field as the Apprenticeship you have chosen you could be eligible.
To celebrate National Women’s Day, we want to hear from you. If you are looking at doing an Apprenticeship, whether you know what Apprenticeship you want to do or need some guidance.
