    Performance Through People

Performance Through People’s (PTP) roots were formed in the 1970’s, when the Walsall Chamber of Commerce set up a training arm to deliver Engineering and Management training to its members. As the Chamber expanded over the years into the Black Country and Staffordshire, so did its training arm, becoming a one stop shop for employers and individuals in a range of different sectors.

In 1995, PTP formed into a separate division within the re-organised East Mercia Chamber of Commerce and in 2003, set up as a trading company PTP Training Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of EMCCI, a trust managed by the trustees of Walsall and Southern Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce. In 2009, Southern Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce’s shareholding was bought out by Walsall Chamber of Commerce, who later became Walsall Business Services and the sole owner of PTP Training.

Representation has always been a key focus of PTP through its Chamber roots, and senior Management of the business have chaired several local provider networks as well as representing the Sector in key areas such as Worldskills, Ofsted, LEP and Combined Authority committees over decades, and have driven key regional initiatives such as the Ladder for Apprenticeships.
