Engineering Skills Academy – your first step to an apprenticeship

Our engineering traineeship programme is a fantastic opportunity to develop practical skills and knowledge, build up your CV and gain a qualification in English and maths, if appropriate. After successfully completing the programme there are opportunities to progress on to an apprenticeship.

The 16 – 18 week programme includes up to 16 weeks of work experience in a business (3 days a week) as well as time in our training centre covering any English and maths that is necessary as well as general employability skills.

In order to take part in the programme you must:

  • Be aged 16 – 23
  • Not hold A-levels or other level 3 qualifications
  • Be unemployed and never had paid employment
  • Want a career in engineering or manufacturing and be committed to learning new skills
