Awards Shortlist Success

We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the Learning Provider Category of this year’s Asian Apprenticeship Awards. The awards recognise and celebrate the talent and diversity among apprentices within the BME Asian community and the employers and learning providers who support them.

Performance Through People’s entry for the awards was based on the ways in which they support the apprentices and businesses from the British Asian community who they work with, and encourage more people from the community to become involved in apprenticeships.

Several of Performance Through People’s training centres are based in areas with a high British Asian population. They have experience of working with a number of employers who are part of the British Asian business community, including a large pharmacy chain, retail businesses and a number of dental practices. The open door policy at their centres and their commitment to actively engaging with other organisations and schools has helped to ensure people in the local area are aware of the apprenticeship and training opportunities that are available to them. They have also been involved in various initiatives to promote wider engagement with apprenticeships, including the Ladder for the Black Country and Ladder for Staffordshire campaigns which use mainstream media to reach those who may otherwise not receive information on these options.

Managing Director, Rob Colbourne said “At Performance Through People we are committed to promoting equality and diversity. With over 40 years’ experience we have a strong track record of working with a wide range of businesses and tailoring our services to meet their individual needs, including cultural requirements. We take a similar individual approach to each of our learners, ensuring they receive effective information, advice and guidance from the point they apply to us right through to completion of their apprenticeship. I am delighted that we have been shortlisted for this award, which recognises the experience, knowledge and commitment of our staff who are working with these communities.”

The awards ceremony takes place on Thursday 2nd November at Edgbaston Cricket Ground.
