Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Apprentice (VAC1000247227)
Brief Overview of the Role
The maintenance technician is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the machinery and ensuring routine inspections and repairs are carried out to the required standards and comply with health and safety regulations.
Duties to Include
- Responsible for conducting and completing routine inspections and emergency repairs to the equipment.
- Inspecting machinery, equipment, and systems. Checking and maintaining safety equipment such as fire alarms and fire extinguishers.
- Carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance work.
- Carrying out welding work.
- Fault finding and problem solving
- Assisting in the installation of new machinery and equipment.
- Using the UniPoint IT system to give out schedule maintenance requests and to track and prioritise incoming maintenance requests.
- Responding to incoming maintenance requests from colleagues and resolving accordingly.
- Maintaining tools and equipment required to perform the role effectively.
- Liaising with Health and Safety
- Being on call and able to attend site in the event of an emergency
The training you will be getting
- Level 3 Maintenance and operations Engineering Technician qualification
- Relevant workplace training
- Functional skills if necessary

Working Hours
Monday to Thursday, 07:30 to 16:00 with 30 minutes for lunch. Friday, 07:30 to 12:30 with no break.
Total hours per week: 37 hours a week
Future Prospects
- Possible full time position available upon completion of apprenticeship, depending on performance.
