1. Compliance Support and Advisory
- Plan and deliver compliance support services to align with ESFA funding rules and business expectations.
- Provide tailored advice and guidance to ensure compliance with statutory Codes, focusing on ESFA funding requirements and audit standards.
- Promote the importance of compliance with ESFA funding rules within the organisation.
2. Risk Assessment and Management
- Assess regulatory risks related to ESFA funding and use risk assessment findings to guide activities and resource allocation.
- Gather, analyse, use, and share data to inform risk assessments, specifically focusing on ILR submissions and funding rule compliance.
3. Policy and Procedure Adherence
- Ensure activities align with the organisation’s policies and procedures, ESFA funding rules, and legal requirements.
- Work within the legal frameworks relevant to ESFA funding.
4. Data Management and IT Systems
- Use IT systems effectively to manage, share, and store ILR data per data protection requirements.
- Provide ILR technical support, ensuring the accurate and compliant submission of ILR data.
5. Audit Preparation and Response
- Prepare for ESFA audits by ensuring compliance with funding rules and maintaining up-to-date and accurate records.
- Be responsive to audit findings and take corrective actions to address non-compliance issues.
6. Internal Compliance Guidance
- Deliver internal training and guidance on ESFA funding rules, audit preparation, and compliance best practices.
- Evaluate internal processes concerning regulatory objectives and the organisation’s strategic priorities, suggesting improvements where necessary.
7. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and the ESFA to clarify funding rules and compliance requirements.
- Build and maintain good working relationships with regulatory bodies and partner organisations, working collaboratively to support compliance.
8. Continuous Improvement and Professional Development
- Engage in continuous professional development related to ESFA regulations, ILR processes, and compliance strategies.
- Lead by example in adopting a customer-focused mindset, being open to change, and supporting continuous improvement in compliance processes.

Working Hours and Wage
Monday to Thursday, 08:45 – 17:00. Friday, 08:45 – 16:00. A 45-minute break every day Some additional hours may be required on the first 4 working days of each month; however, this can then be taken in lieu.
Total hours per week: 36.5 hours a week

Following successful completion of this apprenticeship, candidates may be able to progress to a leadership position within the business support team or take a higher level apprenticeship in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives and the candidates own career objectives.
