Brief Overview of the Role

Birmingham Airport are looking to recruit an Apprentice Compliance & Safety Officer to learn all aspects of compliance and safety in accordance with the requirements of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The role will involve becoming involved in all aspects of compliance and auditing and supporting the compliance process to support improvements.

Duties to Include

  • Implement the programme to ensure the aerodrome complies with continuous monitoring, audit oversight and assurance.
  • Oversee proficiencies, analysis and reporting of contributory and mitigating factors, compliance monitoring training, and documentation of risk assurance activities.
  • Identify, report and investigate safety events and non-compliances.
  • Proactive safety & compliance campaigns and education.
  • Work with airside users for safety development and measure the effectiveness of safety performance through internal and external audits.
  • Contribute to significant hazard and risk identification, risk assessment and mitigation, assessment of the “Management of Change”, continuous improvement of the safety system and its framework.
  • Maintain compliance & safety monitoring documentation, logs and records, training standards, management system procedures and manuals.
  • Review change requests for approval at the relevant meeting forums.
  • Oversee the procedure for sampling and auditing completed.

The training you will be getting

  • Regulatory Compliance Officer – Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard

Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the End-Point assessment.

Working Hours and Wage

Monday – Friday between 8am and 5pm (breaks to be confirmed).

Total hours per week: 37 hours a week
