Brief Overview of the Role We are looking for warm, positive and enthusiastic individuals to provide person centered support to people with learning disabilities. You will work to make a difference and promote independence whilst enabling people to enjoy a fulfilling and valued life. Duties to Include
  • Giving non-discriminatory care
  • Record and report all relevant information
  • Working with therapists and doctors to ensure consistency of support
  • Supporting and monitoring healthcare and needs
  • Teaching life skills and supporting new hobbies and interests
  • Helping with personal hygiene e.g. toileting
  • Support with eating and drinking
  • Helping clients to access community facilities
  • Cleaning and cooking will be required on a rota basis
  • Planning and delivering activities to service users
From time to time, you may be required to perform other duties as requested by your Line Manager, and whilst not listed above, these duties will be appropriate to the level of responsibility held and to the scope of the role as defined. The training you will be getting Adult Care Worker Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard:
  • Functional Skills, if required
  • Care certificate
  • Training around Autism, learning disability and others specific to the role

  • Steel Banding with nematic banding gun.
  • Quality asses all finished product.
  • Operate crane to manoeuvre bundles of tube.
  • Slinging operation.
  • Booking bundles of tube out within internal Techmes computer system.
  • Check tally sheets to ensure they are correct.
  • Check size and gage of finished product with micrometre.
  • Mechanically set Alpha cut (changing of cutting blades for the saw)
  • Assist the maintenance teams by communicating any breakdowns.

  • Check tally sheets to ensure they are the correct steel coil for each specific job.
  • Quality assess steel coil to authorise it to go into production.
  • Operate overhead crane to manoeuvre slit coil onto the floop/FBS – the starting process of the mill.
  • Using Techmes computer system to monitor upcoming job.
  • Strip join by welding the end of the last slit coil to the next coil to go through production.
  • Assist the maintenance teams by communicating any breakdowns.
  • Support contractor control onsite.
