Emergency First Aid
This course is designed for the person or persons who have been appointed by their company to cover in the absence of the First Aider. It is ideal for smaller workplaces that present few health and safety risks. This is an accredited course. This session will cover:

IOSH – Managing Safely
This course supports those responsible for managing health and safety compliance with the Management or Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. This course introduces delegates to all the health and safety responsibilities and prepare them to complete a Risk Assessment project relating to their own company, plus an overall course assessment. Both are moderated by the Institution. This is an accredited course.

3 Day Course
Basic Life Support – AED
Basic Life Support with Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training is essential as it teaches individuals how to properly manage critical medical emergencies, such as cardiac arrest and obstructed airways. This course is for anyone that needs an annual Adult CPR refresher course, or to learn to use a defibrillator (AED) or update / learn Basic Life Support skills.
This is a very enjoyable and highly practical course with defibrillator training devices.
We cover:
- Introduction to the purpose of AEDs
- Incident Management – a systematic approach to managing first aid incidents and assessing casualties
- Safe Airway Position
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) – Adult Chain of Survival
- Safe use of AED
- Heart rhythms
- AED scenarios and troubleshooting
- Dealing with the aftermath and evaluation
3 Day Course
Certificates are valid for 3 years following successful completion of the course.
Fire Marshal
This course is invaluable for individuals at all levels but is a necessity for those with responsibility for first safety at work and will provide a level of confidence impossible to achieve by any other means.
Course Outline:
- The action to take on discovering a fire
- How to raise the alarm and the procedures this sets in motion
- The action to be taken upon hearing the alarm
- The procedures for alerting members of the public including, where appropriate, directing them to exits
- The arrangement for calling the fire brigade
- The evacuation procedure of the workplace to an assembly point at a place of safety
- The location and use of firefighting equipment
- How to open all escape routes
- The importance of keeping fire doors closed
- How to stop machines/processors and isolate power supplies where appropriate
Half Day Course
Safety in the use of Grinding Wheels
Anyone directly or indirectly involved in mounting, changing, and maintaining abrasive wheels should attend this course.
Course Outline:
- Explanation and implementation of safe working practices
- Raising awareness of potential hazards and the precautions that need to be taken
- Using a practical demonstration to mount an abrasive wheel
- Wheel markings
- Inspection, testing, and storage of wheels
- Accident causation and prevention
Half Day Course
Working Safely with Power Presses
This course is ideal for any person responsible for setting power presses, tool triers and anyone in authority who is required to sign off the press.
This session will cover:
- The provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (as applied to Presses) content applicable to the safe use of power presses e.g. Regulations 11 – Dangerous Parts of Machinery
- The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
- Power Press components in detail related to the press types, including the visual and audible indicators and safety critical mechanism parts of the press could imminently ‘fail to danger’
- Guards and Protection Devices including types and functions, methods of installing, inspecting, and testing including detection of defects
- Guard design for ease of production and tool setting. BS 13857:2008 – the minimum distances for guards away from traps
- Press maintenance for safety and economic and efficient production
- HSG 236 Power Presses: Maintenance and Thorough Examination
- Safe methods for tool setting for safety and efficient production
- Mechanics and methods of tool clamping
