Intermediate Apprenticeship in Sales

This apprenticeship is suitable for people working in roles including Trainee Sales Adviser, Telesales Operator or Junior Sales Executive.

Mandatory Units

  • Time Planning in Sales
  • Complying with Legal, Regulatory and Ethical Requirements in a Sales or Marketing role
  • Deliver Reliable Customer Service

Learners and employers can choose from a variety of units available from the optional groups to make up the credits for the qualification.

The apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of training, guidance, support, self-study and activities in the workplace. On and off job training either through group sessions or on a one-to-one basis. The NVQ will be assessed using varied methods depending on learning style. Technical knowledge and functionality will be assessed through internal and external testing. A portfolio of evidence is required.


Entry requirements

Although there are no formal entry requirements apprentices should have basic numeracy, literacy and communication skills, demonstrate a positive attitude and be enthusiastic about working in a sales role and communicating with customers. Click here to view our latest apprentice job vacancies.

Course Progression

A Sales Apprenticeship can be a great way to learn useful skills that are valued across different industries and can be the first step on a path to a range of more senior roles, including Team Leader, Supervisor or Customer Relationship manager. People who move to a more supervisory or managerial role may be able to undertake an apprenticeship in Team Leading or a higher apprenticeship in Management. There may also be opportunities to progress to higher education, such as a foundation degree.
