Nearly 60 Midlands apprenticeships still available despite COVID-19 lockdown
A Midlands training specialist has revealed it has nearly 60 apprenticeships to fill across a range of industries despite the latest COVID-19 lockdown.
PTP Training trades as Performance Through People and arranges and runs hundreds of apprenticeships a year at employers across the region.
It is part of the BCTG Group, a West Midlands-based training organisation which supports almost 10,000 young people and adults each year.
The company said that its live vacancy list still had 59 roles available in areas as diverse as manufacturing, warehousing, food production, dental nursing and customer services. Rob Colbourne, managing director at PTP Training, explained that he wanted to reassure young learners who might just have received results from recent exams that they still had career opportunities and choices as companies were still recruiting.
He said: “PTP will continue to work with employers and individuals throughout this latest lockdown, as we have historically.
“We are currently recruiting apprentices of all ages in exciting positions with proactive organisations who, despite the many challenges, continue to look to the future and ensure they are fully staffed for when we start to see the end of the pandemic.
“Apprentices will make a huge contribution towards getting businesses back on track, something echoed by the government.”
Mr Colbourne added: “With all the uncertainty about 2021 school leavers and the potential exams and assessment formats, youngsters should know there is light at the end of the tunnel because serious employers still wish to recruit quality apprenticeships.”
