Ladder for Greater Birmingham officially launched

The Ladder for Greater Birmingham was officially announced by Katie Trout, Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership Director, at the organisation’s annual conference in Birmingham this week. Ms Trout told delegates: “Ladder for Greater Birmingham is being taken forward through our skills delivery plan and I’m really excited to formally launch the initiative.”

The Ladder for Greater Birmingham is the latest in a series of Ladder initiatives aimed at creating 1000 apprenticeships in the Greater Birmingham and Solihull area by September 2019.

Ladder for Greater Birmingham is being led by community development group The Vine Trust and Performance Through People with funding from the GBSLEP and BirminghamLive as the media partner. Rob Colbourne, managing director of Performance Through People, said: “It is incredibly encouraging that a key stakeholder such as the GBSLEP is not only supporting the Ladder but clearly understands the positive impact apprenticeships can have on employers, communities and individuals – where there is no ceiling on the progress they can make on an apprenticeship programme, earning while they learn which can be lifelong learning should they wish.”
