Kellie Baker is currently working with West Midlands Ambulance Service. Kellie continued to work with West Midlands Ambulance Service throughout the pandemic. Covid-19 has been a very challenging time for all, with the NHS Trust facing tremendous pressure.
Kellie has had to adapt to several different ways of working to follow changing Government guidelines, whilst ensuring her daily duties are also completed to the fullest.
She had to work with line managers to identify ways to continue producing work to high standards whilst potentially having to work from home. As a department it was decided that to ensure they were keeping all staff as safe as possible that the team would be working split days in an out of the offer. This ensured they played their part in making sure the Trust carried on functioning to its fullest whilst following social distancing rules.
Kellie was able to adapt to working a couple of days a week in the office to ensure that ID cards were printed and able to go out to the Trust employees. This was highly important as the ID card allows the clinicians to gain access around the buildings. Keeping the ID card/security department running ensured that the clinicians were able to gain access to the stock/medicines that they required to allow them to continue to deliver a high-quality standard of care to all patients.
Alongside the extra workload with Covid-19, she has also managed to maintain her studies on her BTEC Business Administration course to which she has now completed. She is now waiting to take her Maths Functional Skills Exam when it can be done in a COVID secure manner. Kellie will then have completed her course even with the many obstacles she has faced this year.
Kellie provided this statement about PTP.
My tutor has been extremely supportive and understanding through these difficult times.
She has always been to hand if I had a query or needed any advice.
