Brief Overview of the Role An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice to work for Maple Tree Nursery and Pre-School within a busy childcare environment, based in Walsall. Duties to Include

• Assisting at meal times.
• Ensuring Health and Safety is followed at all times.
• Assisting with activities including day trips, visits, and activities organised within the setting.
• Helping with the development of young children.
• Providing a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children placed in the setting.
• Implementing the daily routine in the base room.
• Giving support to other personnel within the setting.

Working Hours and Wage

Monday-Friday Shift Patterns - 8.00am-4pm, 8.30am-4.30pm, 9am-5pm, 10.00am-6.00pm.

Total hours per week: 37.5 hours a week

Brief Overview of the Role To share with other staff in meeting the personal care needs of service users in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes independence and help in the general day-to-day activities of the home. Care provided by care assistants is expected to include care that would reasonably be given by members of the service user's family. Duties to Include

• To assist service users who need help with getting up in the morning, dressing, undressing, washing, bathing and the toilet
• To help service users with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence; help in use and care of aids and personal equipment
• To care for service users who are temporarily sick and needing, for example, minor dressings, bed nursing, help with feeding, etc.
• To help care for service users
• To help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of service users through talking to them, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreations
• To make and change bed, tidy rooms, do light cleaning and empty commodes
• To inspect, launder and mend service users' clothing

The training you will be getting

• Adult Care Level 2 Apprenticeship qualification
• Functional Skills in maths and English, if required
• On and off the job training and location to be confirmed

• Helping with daily routine, being creative with planning activities, feeding, changing nappies.
• To deliver a high standard of learning, development, and care for children aged 0 - 5 years.
• To ensure that the childcare setting is a safe environment for children, staff and others.
• Developing partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child's development.
• To be responsible for any tasks delegated by your room leader.

The training you will be getting

• Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship qualification
• Functional Skills in Maths and English may be studied, if necessary.
