Andy finds work with support from BBO Bridges

When Andy joined the BBO programme his employability skills and confidence were very low. He had only ever worked in a warehouse environment and although he had a wealth of skills and knowledge, Andy struggled to express this. He was shy and withdrawn and needed help with his confidence and social skills. After starting with BBO Andy attended a series of workshops and became far more self-aware and confident as he interacted with staff and other members of the group. Andy did struggle at first but the more he learned the more he applied himself.

Andy completed a forklift refresher course and then a conversion course allowing him to operate other vehicles, which improved his employability. His determination showed through and there was a change in the way he viewed the world. Andy became proactive in searching for work and had a successful work trial, which led to a job. Andy has been working steadily since leaving the BBO programme and is most grateful for all the help and support he received.
