Intermediate Apprenticeship in Business Improvement Techniques

The Business Improvement Techniques Pathway ensures that business processes are planned and executed as efficiently as possible, identifying and minimising waste whilst ensuring the highest quality. Designed to support continuous improvement by promoting effective team working and developing lean skills across the wider workforce.

It is suitable for people who are working in a process driven context. This pathway would be particularly suitable for those who are good at problem solving and enjoy organising activities.

Mandatory Units

  • Contributing to effective team working
  • Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements

Learners and employers can choose from a variety of optional and mandatory units depending on the pathway they choose to make up the remaining credits for the qualification.

The apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of training, guidance, support, self-study and activities in the workplace. On and off job training either through group sessions or on a one-to-one basis. The NVQ will be assessed using varied methods depending on learning style. Technical knowledge and functionality will be assessed through internal and external testing.





Course Progression

Apprentices who complete this qualification could progress to become a team leader or supervisor, whilst taking Further Education qualifications. Some apprentices will go on to complete the Advanced Apprenticeship in Business Improvement Techniques.
